Once upon a time, little Johnny was home alone late at night, watching a movie and eating popcorn.

A commercial came on showing children starving in Africa. Johnny’s heart broke. Angry and moved, he cried out to God, “Feed them—and share movies and popcorn with them too!” (Movies and popcorn were always Johnny’s favorite things.)

Johnny soon discovered something amazing: the world already has enough food, clothing, and even movies and popcorn for every child on the planet. The only thing missing was vision—many adults simply didn’t believe it was possible.

So Johnny gathered his friends, rented a convention center, lifted their popcorn bags high, and made a bold declaration to the world:

“We will feed and clothe every child on the planet—because every one of God’s children deserves food, clothing, and MOVIES AND POPCORN!”

That’s how Johnny’s Movies and Popcorn® was born—a global movement to inspire vision and share God’s love with every child in the world.
